An ensemble of renegade artists dedicated to smart, quality entertainment that puts the audience first, fulfilling the promise of affordable, accessible theater for the 21st century.
Lesser America was founded in 2010 by Daniel Abeles, Nate Miller, and Laura Ramadei, who continue to share creative and productive responsibilities. The company is designed to bridge the gap between safe, institutional theater and often inaccessible, experimental work. The Lesser Americans seek to produce new plays that tell uncommon stories but stories still relevant to a young, modern audience. The work is of high entertainment value, but comes at a low cost to the viewer.

"Lesser America is out of the gate with a bang. Its inaugural show...is a ballsy tribute to the special breed of American psycho only the heartland can produce." - TIMEOUT NY
"Lesser America is a talented company that obviously wants to put the bite back into the American theatre. At this pace they just might have the teeth to actually do it.” - NYTHEATRE.COM

"The Lesser sensibility has an edge to it, but one that is matched by a passionate sense of storytelling." -NEW YORK PRESS
"Maybe this is what is revolutionary about 'pop theater': it is meant not for aesthetes and elitists...what if as many people came to see plays as downloaded Ke$ha songs? What if they had a really kick-ass time? What if you didn't have to take a damn college prep course to know what the hell you were looking at?" - J. STEPHEN BRANTLEY
